  • Jump Rope for Heart is an annual fundraising event held at Sabine Elementary school, and at schools nationwide, benefiting the American Heart Association.  The Jump Rope For Heart event is for all 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who raised money for the American Heart Association.  This year the students raised a total of $18,285.25 in donations, surpassing last year's total, also a new all time record total for Sabine Elementary.
On February 25th & 26th, 2015 Sabine Elementary students attended a 'Jump Rope Party' where they did jump rope tricks, and contests in the gym, under the direction of Physical Education teachers, Jason Heffner & Ruthie Hardin.  The Sabine Elementary PTO provided healthy snacks and drinks for the students.  Coach Jason Heffner & Mrs. Ruthie Hardin also gave out door prizes to every child that participated.
Local business who donated door prizes were:  Whataburger of Liberty City, All American Auto Sales, The American Heart Association (Longview), and Sabine Dairy Queen.  Special thanks also goes to Ms. Bass, Mrs. Turner & all PTO volunteers who made this event possible.  Now children and adults with heart problems will benefit from the funds raised by our generous community.
