Hello! My name is Marsha Miller. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. I have nineteen years of teaching experience, and for the last nine years I've had the privilege of teaching at Sabine. I began as a Reading Intervention Teacher, and three years ago I became the dyslexia teacher, which means that my job is to help kids learn to be successful readers. Sabine ISD uses the MTA program(Multi-sensory Teaching Approach)to instruct students with dyslexia.
My goal for my students is for them to realize that having dyslexia has nothing to do with intelligence or motivation. When they realize that their brain is "wired" differently, and that they just learn in a different way, their confidence is boosted, along with their self esteem. This greatly impacts their success!Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
