My name is Brandon Duecker and I am the assistant band director here at Sabine! My duties are tied to all 5 bands (High School Varsity/JV, Middle Varsity/JV, and Beginner).
I will be focused on teaching percussion at all levels. In the fall I will be teaching the HS drumline as well as both middle school drumlines. With beginners I will be co teaching the brass class, as well as teaching the saxophones and percussion.
In the spring I will be in charge of all percussion ensembles and solos for those contest, as well as directing the HS JV band and beginner band for their contests and concerts!
I am very excited for another year at Sabine!
I graduated high school from Bullard High School where I spent my first 7 years of music. While in Bullard, I spent all 4 years of high school marching snare drum
After that, I decided to pursue music in college and ended up in the Spirit of Northwestern, Demon Marching Band. I studied Music Education K-12 with an instrumental focus in percussion, and with a minor in Music Theory. While at NSU, I had the chance to march in the front ensemble for 1 year, and tenors for 3 years. Being a part of a band this large and this good truly made for some life-long memories and friends.
I ended up student teaching for Mr. Rance Hawthorne here in Sabine and not long after graduation I wound up here as the newest addition to the directing staff!
