Sabine Cross Country Wins SIXTH Straight District Championship!
The District 15-3A Cross Country was the 'Race For Seis' for the Sabine Cardinals and they won the race...again. They claimed their SIXTH consecutive district championship Monday and earned a trip to the Regional Cross Country meet in Dallas, October 25th.
Leading the charge for the varsity boys was sophomore, Kevin Maldonado who was the district runner-up with a 3.2 mile time of 19 minutes and 35 seconds. Caleb Cox placed 4th at district out of 43 runners, running a time of 20:34. Oscar Gonzales came in 11th overall with a time of 21:23. Anthony Aguilar placed 13th, Francisco Perez was 17th, Robert Chubboy was 19th, and Randy Rodriguez placed 20th.
Sophomore, Daynne Trevino led the way for the girls district championship, running a 2 mile time of 14:41 and winning the 3rd place medal. Emma Logan placed 4th with a time of 14:47. Flor Garcia won the 9th place medal. Kooper Bogenschutz placed 12th, Hailey Aguilar finished 14th, Greta Chubboy was19th, and Reese Rutland finished 28th.
Ashley Cervantes won first place in the JV girls race! While Sofia Perez won a medal for 4th place.
Matthew Howland won 1st place for the JV boys with a time of 22:48, Alec Gonzales placed 5th, Camden Childress finished 13th, and Evan Brenner was 19th place. Congratulations to these student athletes!
